Introduction:

Welcome to our blog, where we’re excited to share the success story of our Training of Trainers (ToT) program in partnership with Cycle City Network Nepal (CCNN) and Skills and Thrills. Supported by FHI360, USAID Clean Air, and ENPHO, this initiative aimed to empower individuals to become certified cycling instructors and support beginner-level riders across Nepal.

Program Overview:

In November 2023, we launched our ToT program with an open call for applications, attracting passionate individuals dedicated to promoting cycling education. Through a rigorous selection process, we identified 25 enthusiastic participants who showed exceptional potential to become effective trainers.

Training Phase:

The program commenced with a dynamic 5-day intensive training session, where participants immersed themselves in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for teaching cycling. Topics covered included riding techniques, safety protocols, bike maintenance, effective communication, and group management.

Internship Period:

Following the training, participants engaged in a 4-month internship, applying their skills under supervision. This hands-on experience was pivotal in refining their teaching abilities and gaining practical insights into effectively supporting beginner riders.

Graduation and Impact:

In June 2024, we proudly graduated 23 skilled trainers from our program. These individuals are now equipped to deliver high-quality instruction and foster safe cycling environments for enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. By expanding our network of competent cycling instructors, we aim to promote sustainable urban mobility and healthier lifestyles throughout Nepal.

Conclusion:

Our ToT program stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in advancing cycling education. We extend our heartfelt thanks to CCNN, Skills and Thrills, FHI360, USAID Clean Air, and ENPHO for their invaluable support. Together, we continue to pave the way for a brighter, safer, and more cycling-friendly future in Nepal.

Stay tuned for more updates and inspiring stories from our cycling community!
